Ok a lot of people is complaining about the name chosen last wednesday, and quite frankly I think it caught us off guard, so if there is enough people that thinks we should come up with a better tittle, this blog would be the way to brainstorm and choose one, as long as we dont take forever, we can always go to Fred once we have all agreed, because i dont think this makes much difference to him, and I wouldn't like to spend a single minute of class that we can use on critique to go over this again.
So if you have any ideas, post away
Another idea for the name is Blink. This is great to me because it has many connections and is vague enough to be really poetic. It can be connected to a "blink of an eye" where life can change in a flash, which is what is happening with the show and what might happen with the end of the year 2012. Blink also relates to the instant when the eyes are shut and our imagination takes over, which can highlight the conceptual side of our work, not just what we see.
ReplyDeletePlus, for anyone who hasn't read it, "Blink" is a great book about how our subconscious picks up on things and makes decisions for us, which we call a "gut feeling". We use this gut feeling all the time when judging a work of art.
Blink is short, easy to remember, and fun to think about.
lets just stick to it. If we go back to the drawing board it'll just delay things. Of course some people don't like it. We're not going to please everybody and we got the majority vote so why are we pushing this?
